CACI Treatments Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear makeup after my treatment?

Absolutely, this is why CACI is so popular we have so many clients that visit us in their lunch break that want to go back to work immediately. Your skin will have appropriate CACI moisturisers on it to ensure you have adequate protection. All we recommend is that you supply your own Face and neck SPF factor 50 or more.

Is the CACI Non Surgical Treatment Painful?

Not at all! Many of our clients comment on how relaxing the treatment is and even fall asleep during the treatment. We have heard terrible stories from some of our clients who have been at other beauty salons that have had CACI and have had dreadful experiences, ranging from severe pain when the etr pads are put onto the face. The reason for this is that the therapist carrying out the procedure is doing it wrong and it is dangerous. During the etr pad treatment the purpose of this is for the tissue in your face to be exercised definitely not the muscles. If it hurts then the therapist is using the body settings on your face and activating your muscles on your face at the wrong frequency which is causing you pain it is definitely incorrect and should not hurt at all.

Does the CACI Microdermabrasion hurt or leave me very red!

Absolutely not your skin will not be red or blemished at all unlike the Diamond Microdermabrasion and Crystal Clear which sucks at your skin and blasts your skin with crystals and leaves your face red and sometimes sore.

What is CACI Microdermabrasion?

As we age, the automatic process of exfoliation and cell renewal slows down. Sometimes the body needs a little help. Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure in which the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin) is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. The removal of the dead skin cells reveals the softer more youthful looking skin cells underneath. The superficial abrasion of the skin also triggers the body’s own natural repair mechanism which triggers the production of new collagen and releases glycoaminoglycans in order to rehydrate and replenish the recently abraded area. This has a remarkable softening action on surface lines and wrinkles. The procedure is not painful and requires no anesthetic. Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin, but is less effective with sunken scars. Microdermabrasion can also be used to treat sun-damaged skin and to improve acne but must be repeated periodically to be effective. Different microdermabrasion methods are used to the exfoliate the skin Orbital Microdermabarsion uses a hand piece that rotates at different speeds on an elliptical axis. Instead of using exfoliating crystals like Crystal Clear, CACI orbital abrasion utilizes a selection of disposable, abrasive treatment tips coated with a layer of silicon carbide to either superficially or deeply exfoliate the stratum corneum. The orbital rotation of the abrasive treatment tip performs a progressive and controlled skin exfoliation and polishes and massages the skin at the same time. The speed of rotation, the abrasiveness of the treatment tip selected and the speed at which the hand piece is moved across the skin surface determines the depth of abrasion. This is further enhanced by blue led light for calming the skin and with Red led light which increases collagen and reduces wrinkles.

How Many CACI Microdermabrasion Sessions should I have in a week?

Only one. We always check that our clients haven't exfoliated in the week prior to having a CACI Microdermabrasion. It is totally unnecessary to use the microdermabrasion more than once a week if it is used more frequency it will take off essential layers of the skin thus causing sensitivity and harming the skin. Always put an SPF of factor 50 or more when you have had a CACI Treatment.

Can men and woman have a CACI Treatment?

Yes they can.

What do you need to ask your beauty salon if you are having a CACI Treatment?

It is essential when you are looking to have a CACI Treatment that you ensure the the salon personnel are fully trained on how to use the CACI machines and are certified to carry out CACI Treatments. You can ask the salon for a copy of the CACI Certificate with the name of the therapist that is trained. If the name is different then the therapist has not been officially trained and perhaps has been cross trained in house by the beauty salon, this in itself is not satisfactory as they have not past the CACI test and should not be performing CACI Treatments. Always check that the salon that you go to has insurance.

Can I exercise after having a CACI Treatment?

Yes you can although if you have had the hydratone mask and moisturises during your treatment if you exercise a lot of these products will obviously sweat out of the skin. So its best not to exercise really and not to have a sauna.

What do I do after I have had a CACI Treatment?

Ideally put an SPF of 50 plus on your face go home and relax and drink plenty of water. You may find that you go to the toilet more after the treatment or during because of the toxins leaving the body. This is a good thing.

Does CACI Help with Sun Damaged Skin?

Yes it does its one of the best treatments on the market! CACI will help reduce uneven pigmentation caused by ageing, sun spots, age spots, skin blemishes etc. Although we all love the sun we must be careful! There are two types of rays that we receive from the sun, UVA and UVB rays. UVA cause lasting long-term skin damage which can result in wrinkle formulation and sagging skin. UVA penetrates through the cloud and through glass windows and is present all year round. UVB causes skin short-term damage which results in skin burning and skin dehydration. UVB is strongest when the sun is shining but cannot penetrate through window glass (like UVA rays can)

How long does the CACI Lip Pout Treatment Last?

This express CACI Lip Treatment has been developed to instantly plump the lips and soften lines, for that special day or evening, one treatment can last up to 3 days.

How often should I have a CACI Non Surgical Treatment?

At Cheshire Treatments we offer a wide range of CACI Treatments some of which are bespoke to CACI Treatments. We offer a one off treatment to see if you like them firstly and for you to see the before and after pictures, a course of 5, course of 10, or course of 15. We also regularly run special offers. We understand that not everyone can afford or have the time to dedicate to 10 sessions in one go so at CACI Cheshire we offer much more flexibility than most Beauty Salons. Following on from a skin consultation and medical consultation to ensure no contra-indications with myself which will take approximately 10 mins I would recommend the following.
Normally a CACI recommend a course of 10-15 CACI, if client is on antidepressants then results tend to take a little longer so therefore 15 treatments are required. Clients that are not on depressants are recommended a course of 10 treatments.
It is recommended to have at least 2/3 a week with a rest day inbetween. For the best results it is recommended to have 3 a week.
Following on from the 10 or 15 treatments clients are then put on a maintenance programme which consists of a treatment every 4/6 weeks. However, I have clients who have had the course of 10 who still like to come once a week to keep their skin and toning regime in tip top condition. CACI is the best facial you can have so you can come as frequently as you wish.

Can anyone receive CACI treatments?

The majority yes, but not everyone as there are a few exceptions that will prevent treatments from going ahead as listed below. Pregnancy Pacemaker Heart conditions Epilepsy Diabetes Antidepressants slows the process and relaxes the muscles Please note, the above list is not exhaustive and a full list of exceptions will be discussed in full during your consultation.

Can I receive CACI treatments even if I have sensitive skin?

Most clients with sensitive skin can have the treatments without any problems however, we will require you to partake in a patch test prior to treatment to ensure your skin does not react to the products used in the chosen treatment.

What are ETR pads?

ETR pads are small sticky pads that are placed on and around the face and neck during the Non-surgical facial treatment. ETR is an abbreviation of Enhanced Tissue Repair which is very beneficial for blemishes, lines, wrinkles, scars, burns and stretch marks. Benefits include: A Micro-current ripples the skin to heal and repair it A collection of white blood cells rush to the area to heal blemishes Increases cell turnover Increases collagen and elastin in the skin Plumps lines and wrinkles

I am currently taking Retin A for acne, can you treat me?

You must have stopped taking Retin A for at least 3-6 months before starting any treatments that uses a micro-current. This will be discussed in depth during your consultation on the day. If you are taking Roaccutane, you must have stopped taking it for 12-18 months prior to the treatments being carried out. Again this will be discussed in full on the day of your consultation.

What Is CACI?

CACI stands for Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument, and is backed by over 20 years of medical research. It's the original non-surgical non-invasive treatment and the only micro-current machine licensed for both cosmetic & medical purposes. CACI remains the market-leader, being considered as the most advanced treatment of its kind. The CACI micro-current was originally developed by Dr Thomas Wing in the US to treat Bells Palsy and Stroke victims, but it was noted that when treating the affected side of the face, it actually lifted higher than the unaffected side of the face. CACI came to the UK in 1992 when it was realised that a medical treatment for retraining facial muscles had cosmetological benefits, thus was the CACI Non-Surgical Facelift born! Previous to this the CACI machine had also been used in the sports field for muscular injuries & in hospital burns units due to its abilities to speed up skin tissure repair.

What is microcurrent?

Microcurrent therapy delivers tiny electrical impulses that mirror the body’s own natural bioelectrical field. Microcurrent stimulation helps to re-educate the muscles and can lift, firm and tone. Microcurrent in aesthetics is commonly described as “facial toning” or “non-surgical face lifting” due to the dramatic lifting effect that it has on facial muscles and contours.

What is S.P.E.D™ microcurrent LED technology?

S.P.E.D™ (Simultaneous Photo Electrical Delivery) microcurrent LED technology harnesses the power of LED light therapy at the same time as using CACI microcurrent. The powerful, high brilliance LED uses pulsed and continuous wave lengths for enhanced treatment results.

Will there be any recovery or downtime after my treatment?

No. CACI treatments are non-invasive and gentle on the skin so there is no interruption to your lifestyle.
